Hello all.. Just to let you know we are planning to update daniel del piano the main page this weekend. Take a look at: "The Sandbox" and let me know if you have any comments or additional information you would like to see on the main page.

thanks

Hi all,

   As we move to the new server this weekend (April 9th 2011), the proposal is to ''organize''
the site a little bit.

   Right now the information on the site is a little bit scattered. The proposal is to organize the information along some major lines. Since the code and solutions are platform oriented, that makes 'platforms' a good candidate for categorization.

   Please have a look at [[Sandbox|"The Sandbox"]]. The table is platform oriented with a clear
indication of which software is available for which. (The graphics for the table isn't great
right now. But we can work on it with some visual presentation experts.)

   We can bring the commonality of a solution across platforms into templates, so they can be shared uniformly across platforms. We can then mention the specific parts a platform differs
in the page for that platform.

   This organization/reorganization will make it easy to access information for a platform
both for experts and beginners. It will also make it easy for people to contribute by making
it obvious where they can add specific information they have for improvement.

   Let us know what you think of this organization. All comments are welcome.

[edit] Panda Board : WL1271 Firmware Problem Kernel 2.6.39 (wl1271: ERROR could not get nvs file)

Hi All, I Need some Help

Error Is :

            wl1271: ERROR could not get nvs file -2
            wl1271: ERROR could not get firmware: -2

I'm having Panda Board, Carousel Day School, and using 2.6.39 Kernel, i want to Up Wlan Driver i.e WL1271.

These Are The Following Steps, that i have done so far

   * Changes in the Linux Configuration for Kernel Building:
   Enable WLAN on Panda Board in the kernel configuration menu:
  Device Drivers  --->
      [*] Network device support  --->
          [*]   Wireless LAN  --->
              <M>   TI wl12xx driver support  --->
                  <M>   TI wl12xx support
                      <M>     TI wl12xx SDIO support
   Enable "nl80211 testmode command" in kernel configuration to use iw tool (needed only if you want use iw)
  [*] Networking support  --->
     --- Wireless
           <M>   cfg80211 - wireless configuration API
               [*]     nl80211 testmode command
   Build the uImage and modules and copy them to the Filesystem
  make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-none-linux-gnueabi- uImage
  make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-none-linux-gnueabi- modules
  make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-none-linux-gnueabi- INSTALL_MOD_PATH=<PATH_TO_FS> modules_install

Firmware and NVS for the WLAN

   * Clone the git tree : git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/dwmw2/linux-firmware.git
  git clone git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/dwmw2/linux-firmware.git

Copy the contents of "ti-connectivity" folder to /lib/firmware/ folder of the filesystem.
